Foodie Friday-It's THURSKETTI Time... or Spaghetti Recipe for the Non Thursketti Compliant

The next step in my plot to take over the world is to provide you the recipe in which you can become my evil minions... So without further ado... THURSKETTI... The Recipe. (side note-aka super easy spaghetti recipe)

Ingredients-
1 large can (28oz) of petite diced tomatoes
1 large can (28oz) crushed tomatoes (side note-this is a very chunky sauce add more crushed tomatoes if you prefer a more liquid consistancy)
1 lb sweet italian sausage (side note-you can use spicy or mild if you prefer)
1 medium onion-diced
4 cloves of garlic-minced
1 can of olives-sliced
1 1/2 cups sliced mushrooms (fresh)
4-5 teaspoons of basil
2-2 1/2 teaspoons oregano (side note-depending on your taste buds.  I prefer a bit of extra spice)
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 package of your favorite pasta (side note-we love Barilla) cooked according to directions.

Step 1-Spray large skillet with non stick cooking spray and place over medium heat.

Step 2-Remove sausage from casing (if in casing) crumble and brown over medium-medium/high heat

Step 3-Add onions and garlic and sautee over medium heat until onions are soft and clear.

Step 4-Add mushrooms and sautee over medium heat until soft and moisture is cooked off.

Step 5-Added diced tomatoes and spices then sautee over medium high heat until the liquid is reduced to almost nothing. (side note-usually about 10 minutes and be sure to stir frequently)

Step 6-Add crushed tomatoes, sugar, and sliced olives. Mix well.  Cook over medium low heat (stirring frequently) for 30-60 minutes before serving (side note-the longer it cooks the better it tastes)

Step 7-Serve over your favorite pasta and ENJOY Thursketti at it's finest.

Disclaimer-I don't know if the pasta I used was a package I purchased or that Barilla provided me as part of their Share the Table promotion.  I forgot to mark my boxes of pasta appropriately so the FTC doesn't get all up in my junk.  So if this pasta was the one provided to me by Barilla I would like to thank them. And if not I still want to thank them because I really like their pasta.
